On Sunday, June 15, 2019, yogis parked their mats at the grounds of Texas State Capitol to do yoga, practice meditation, listen to live music, and to meet other like-minded yogis. The day was packed with free yoga classes led by some of the city’s finest instructors.
What
International Day of Yoga in Austin featured a 90-minute free yoga session and peace meditation. Attendees also enjoyed live music and other performances. All attendees needed to bring was their mats, water bottles and good vibes. The event was free.
The annual event aims to unite with the global yoga community in celebrating yoga practices for health and wellness. The 1st International Day of Yoga was held on June 21, 2015 at Rajpath, New Delhi.
Consulate General of India, Houston in collaboration with Yoga Studios, non profits and many other organizations sponsored the 5th International Day of Yoga in Austin.

Attendees can park on the street for free on Saturdays and Sundays downtown. Visitors can also park in the state parking across from the Bob Bullock Museum.
