How I got into yoga, meditation and tantra
Yoga
After running for many years, I wanted to try other ways to stay fit without putting too much stress on my body. I wanted a new workout that’s free and convenient, just like running. So I started practicing yoga on my own. Eventually my practice grew. I really enjoyed how yoga taught me to slow down, to breathe mindfully, and with ease. I also started going to studios. I loved going but found them expensive.
Meditation
Yoga inspired me to learn more about mind and body awareness, which led me to meditation. In meditation, the idea is to stop “doing” and to focus more on “being.” Sounds easy, right? But meditation is not always easy. Sometimes it’s hard to sit still just with our own thoughts, and do nothing at all. This is one of the ways meditation brings us deep within ourselves. Because this practice is only about you and your thoughts. My goal is to find and share all the ways in which we can build a meditation practice with ease.
Tantra
Tantra is about being fully present as we connect intimately either with our own bodies or with our partners. It is another study of mind and body awareness, along with sexuality, spirituality and love. Tantra is still new to me and it’s not always easy to understand. As I do my research, I’m excited to share everything I learn about it here.
Why I started blogging
I’m here to write about and cultivate an easy and convenient at-home yoga practice enhanced by meditation and tantra principles.
The more I study yoga, meditation and tantra, the more connections I find between the three of them. I want to find and share all the practical ways in which we can apply these concepts to our daily lives – without all the stresses of going all over town, taking expensive classes and then coming home exhausted.
This is for my own learning but more importantly, to help other parents or full-time professionals like myself find a better solution. Sometimes we just can’t make it to (or afford) the yoga studio!
